Do it yourself Installation

One complete equipment package consists of 3 cardboard boxes : for the antenna, for the TRIA and for the mode

The top part of the big cardboard box contains the reflector for the antenna:

Underneath it you can find the smaller components:

There is a large white sheet with direction on how to put the antenna together:

The TRIA module unpacked:

and the unpacked model with the power block and short user manual:

There is no mount for a vertical wall in the package. You can get it separately:

In the beginning, you must determine an appropriate place for the antenna, keep in mind the location of the satellite. Azimuth and elevation for your location can be found here

Keep in mind the recommended beam "color" for your location.

A fixed vertical metal tube with a diameter of 50 to 70 mm should be used as a mount for the antenna.

Then you have to mount the antenna with the TRIA module like it is shown in the directions. The antenna should be directed towards the satellite.

You must pull and fix the RG6 coaxial cable with double shielding with well-crimped connectors TRIA (Tx port) to the modem. The outside connector to the TRIA must be hydro isolated with tape. You must also ground the TRIA unit.

Activation is done in two steps by a computer linked with a "straight" cable to the LAN-port of the modem:

# 1 – Using the software of the modem (192.168.100.1/install) and the beeper - for precise targeting towards the satellites. Select one of the four rays - the one with the highest level of the parameter "Rx SNR". When you successfully finish this process you must receive a DHCP address from the central VSAT network. See more information regarding the beeper signal (built into the TRIA) in The KA-SAT Link section of our website. After that, you can test SNR levels at local address 192.168.100.1.

# 2 - Through the self-activation software that is loaded from the central station. To activate the connection, you must enter an access code, which you can receive from us and then after you restart the modem you should be connected to the Internet.

After activation, you can test FAP ("traffic") status of the terminal at http://chechportal.skylogic.com (only from computer connected directly to LAN port of the modem). Download and upload speeds can be tested on the second page.
